CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) – All it needs is good preparation….




Common Law admission test (CLAT) is an All India entrance test conducted by fourteen national law schools or universities for admission to the five year integrated undergraduate and post graduate degree programmes. CLAT is the gateway to the best law schools and clearing this examination is part of the admission process.

CLAT Exam
There are two examinations, one for the undergraduate program and other for post graduation in LAW. Students can also opt for a 5 year integrated program which is in high demand. CLAT exam follows a well defined examination pattern.

CLAT undergraduate program:
CLAT exam consists of 200 multiple choice questions carrying one mark each. The total duration of the examination is two hours and following are the subject areas covered in the examination:
1)   English including comprehension – 40 marks: This section mainly checks English proficiency of the candidate. It includes comprehension and questions related to English grammar.
2)   General Knowledge /Current affairs- 50 marks: This section is mainly looking into candidate’s knowledge in current affairs and GK.
3)   Elementary Mathematics- 20 marks: This section has simple problems on mathematics.
4)   Logical Reasoning- 40 marks: This section consists of questions to test student’s ability to identify patterns, logical sequences and analogies.
5)   Legal Aptitude- 50 marks:  Questions will be framed with the help of legal propositions (described in the paper), and a set of facts to which they said proposition has to be applied.

CLAT post graduate program
This section comprises of 200 marks and duration of the exam is 2 hours.
Section 1(Objective type questions) – 100 questions carrying one mark each. This covers law of contracts, Criminal law, Legal theory, etc.
Section 2 (Short answer questions) – This section consists of 10 questions of 10 marks each.

CLAT mainly includes general topics and thus the CLAT Exam Syllabus is not well defined. Candidates can refer old question papers to understand the type of questions and the level of difficulty. CLAT Exam Syllabus

IIT - JEE Application Form

IIT - JEE Syllabus
IIT – JEE Syllabus consists of 4 main papers. Candidates applying for engineering should take up Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Only candidates taking up B.Arch should take up Physics, Maths and B.Arch aptitude test.
1)   Physics: Some of the important concepts covered under physics are mechanics, electricity and magnetism, Optics and Modern Physics.
2)   Chemistry: The concepts covered under Chemistry are Atomic structure and Chemical bonding, Chemical equilibrium, Surface Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Nuclear Chemistry.

4)   B. Arch Aptitude Test: This includes freehand drawing, Geometrical drawing, three dimensional perception and Architectural awareness.
